Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Animas City Electric is a Master Electrician and electrical contractor, licensed and insured in the State of Colorado.

What kinds of jobs do you take?

Service calls and troubleshooting, remodels, new builds, electrical inspections, load calculations and panel or service upgrades — plus specialty hookups like saunas and smart doors, and commercial lighting.

What is a load calculation?

Separate from an electrical inspection, a load calculation tells you the highest electrical requirements your home, building or workshop might be pulling — and whether upgrading your service is worth it. It's especially useful if you've recently bought a house or are planning to.

How do I protect my electronics from power surges?

A nearby lightning strike, or the surge when power comes back on after an outage, can damage computers, TVs and gaming systems. Plug them into a power strip that actually says "Surge Protector" — it diverts excess voltage away from your devices.

Where do you work?

We're based in Durango and work across La Plata County, including jobs out in Mancos. Call (970) 769-6966 if you're not sure whether you're in our area.
